Welcome. This is a virtual site of resources on autism for other universities, area parents and teachers. Please feel free to visit this site frequently, offer suggestions, and donate additional resources.

Nationally, autism is one of the fastest growing developmental disabilities. The College of Graduate and Professional Studies felt the need to better prepare teachers to teach students with autism. In an attempt to meet local needs, the University of Mary Washington offers a certificate program for teachers and other professional who work with students with autism.

The certificate in Teaching Students with Autism is unlike any other in VA, offering a combination of assistive technology with characteristics and methods courses. The program also includes a Board Certified Associate Behavior Analyst (BCABA) option that allows individual to complete an additional three graduate courses necessary to take the BCABA exam.
