Digital Multimedia Stories
with Lesson Plans, Examples and Tutorials
|
|
| These multimedia stories were created by students (some of
whom are teachers) as partial fulfillment for ITEC 531 (Emerging and
Assistive Technologies) at the College of Graduate and Professional
Studies, University of Mary Washington, Fredericksburg, VA. We ask
that you give credit to the author(s) of the activities, lessons,
and stories you use.
Technologies used to complete elements of the
projects: pencil and paper, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Acrobat
Professional, Windows Movie Maker, Photo Story, computer,
camcorders, webcams, digital camera, Camtasia, Paint, Audacity,
Windows Sound Recorder, and clip art. Each
digital story was created an an example to show to students. In some
cases, student examples are included. The digital story lesson plans
follow the
Vogler CPA Model. In some examples Camp of Hope lesson plans are
also included and are target toward special needs students. These
lessons do not necessarily follow the Vogler Model. |

Mike's original digital story was created
first with PowerPoint. Family members "voiced" the dialogue and
family dogs were the inspiration for the main characters in the
story. Different parts of the project are to the right and all
documents are combined into a bookmarked documents for easy
viewing. Mike narrates the storyline in the PDF version. Mike
makes good use of pedagogical coaches during his informative
Virginia history lesson.

Students modify existing poetic structures and
add multimedia in this lesson. Emily's Photo Story 3 tutorial is
outstanding. Her completed story originally began as a
PowerPoint. In her instructional materials she illustrates how
she converted her PowerPoint slides to other types of media.
