Lessons, Tutorials, Examples

Graduate students at the University of Mary Washington who have taken Emerging and Assistive Technologies designed and developed several projects for this class. Some of these projects have been implemented at Camp Soaring Eagle (a summer day camp) and other environments. Visit the Lessons page for ideas and examples of multimedia lessons specifically designed and developed for students with special needs. Tutorials and links to additional resources for developing your own multimedia products are included.

Camp Soaring Eagle
UMW's graduate students participated for three years as counselors for Camp Soaring Eagle as part of their class assignments for Emerging and Assistive Technologies and for Survey of Special Education: Characteristics and Legal Issues. While materials are camp-specific, this page has wonderful resources and examples of authentic learning by UMW graduate students. View short videos of camp activities and review material about creating social scenarios along with examples.
